Whose Approval Are You Running After?
Have you ever found yourself completely exhausted at the end of the day, not because you were doing what God called you to do, but because you were running around trying to make sure everyone else was happy?
It is a heavy burden to carry. We don’t like to admit it, but many of us get completely sidelined by a quiet kind of anxiety: the constant worry about what other people think of us.
Take a moment to look closely at your own heart. Do any of these situations sound familiar?
You worry that if you share your real opinions, your creative work, or your true personality, people won't accept you.
You stay silent when you know you should speak up for what is right, simply because you're afraid of losing your comfort, your job, or your reputation.
You’ve been deeply misunderstood by others, and it hurts because a tiny grain of truth has been twisted into a mountain of exaggeration, and you can't easily explain your side of the story.
You say "yes" to absolutely every single request and event because you are terrified of letting people down or being left out.
When we live this way, we are letting the opinions of people run our lives. The result is always the exact same: we end up anxious, completely drained, distracted, and deeply disappointed.
The Trap vs. The Truth
The Word of God gives us a very clear warning about this exact struggle:
"Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe." 📖 — Proverbs 29:25
A snare is a hidden trap meant to catch you and stop your progress. When we stress over trying to please people, we walk right into that trap. Fear and faith cannot live in the same space. You cannot fully depend on the Holy Spirit if you are constantly looking over your shoulder to see if the world approves of you.
Here is the beautiful, freeing truth: God’s approval is the only approval that defines who you are. Pleasing Him is what matters most. And the best news of all? You don’t have to work yourself to the bone to earn His love! You don’t have to prove you are worthy of His time or attention. Jesus already settled that on the cross. Because He is worthy, you are accepted. His love for you is 100% unconditional, and when you rest in that truth, the Holy Spirit begins to change you from the inside out.
As you grow to realize just how deeply loved you are by God, your worry about what people think will simply start to melt away.
A Short Prayer for Freedom Today
“Lord Jesus, deliver me from the trap of trying to please everyone around me at the expense of my own calling. Holy Spirit, remind me today that I am already fully loved, fully accepted, and perfectly safe in Your hands. Help me to focus on Your voice above the noise of the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.” 🙏

Let favor speak for them.
Every key that has been withheld,
every door that has been locked,
every access that has been denied—
Father, by Your mighty hand,
UNLOCK them now in Jesus’ name!
Where there was delay, bring acceleration.
Where there was rejection, release acceptance.
Where there was limitation, release expansion.
Lord, go before Your people and make every crooked path straight.
Let their testimonies begin now.
We receive it by faith,
and we seal it with thanksgiving.
