WHEN YOUR HEART FEELS OVERWHELMED, GOD IS STILL NEAR

Scripture

Psalm 61:2

"From the end of the Earth, I will cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

Devotional Reflection

There are moments in life when the heart feels heavy and overwhelmed. Challenges arise, uncertainty surrounds us, and we may feel as though the weight of life is pressing down on us.

Yet in those moments, God invites us to cry out to Him.

The Psalmist reminds us that when our hearts are overwhelmed, we are not abandoned. Instead, we are lead to the rock that is higher than ourselves. That rock is God Himself –steady, unshaken, and faithful.

When our strength feels small, His strength remains great. When our understanding fails, His wisdom still guides us.

God does not promise life will never bring difficult seasons, but he promises that his presence will always be near.

Today, whatever burden you may be carrying, lift your heart to God. Ask Him to lead you to the rock that is higher than you.

In His presence, there is peace.

In His guidance, there is strength.

And in His love, there is hope.

Prayer

Lord, when my heart feels overwhelmed, help me remember that you are my refuge and my strength. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I and fill my heart with your peace. Amen.
